Remnants

Remnants is a whole cloth quilt on cotton (19 1/2" x 23 1/4") which is silkscreened printed with fiber reactive dyes. I used pieces of old embroidered and appliqued clothing as the imagery. I am a printmaker for over 30 years but started printing on fabric and making art quilts about 13 years ago. I make silkscreens of lace patterns as part of the texture vocabulary in my work. I have always loved lace, its intricacies, and the metaphor of webs, frayed edges, worn, used clothing and the stories embedded in them.
